I did run a search but came up with nothing found. I noticed on a website for a bout 40 bucks you could buy a plug and have a USB connection. Would this be good for a GPS and some driving lights? If not maybe someone might snap a pic of a good wire to tap into. Thanks

On the V85TT, there is a two-terminal plug near the battery for a USB port that can be purchased from a dealer and installed under the seat. As Todd noted, the plug in your photo is the diagnostic port so don't plug anything except suitable diagnostic equipment into it. The expansion port for the optional USB port is probably behind the side cover or tucked down beside the battery. The V85TT also has a USB port under a rubber cover by the dash (left side of dash display). I use the port by the dash to power my GPS and have been thinking of buying the optional USB port kit to charge other stuff while stored under the seat. There is a connector hidden near the front of the fuel tank for fog lights (could be switched on with low beam headlights, but not with high beams).

You may be able to find the connector by pulling the little covers near the ignition switch without pulling the tank. Power to the connector is enabled by having the switch on the right handlebar in the correct position for fog lights and having the trigger switch on the left handlebar in the low beam position. There will be no power to the connector with high beam lights.

I tapped into the 7A block that is for the heated grips, that I don't have installed, for my 12V gps. I wanted it to turn off with the ignition.

I figure that if that was a world-class stupid move, someone will be quick to tell me.

Assuming the fuse tap keeps the 7A fuse for the original circuit and has a smaller one for the GPS circuit, it should be OK electrically. One drawback is that the rubber cover over the fuse block can no longer be used so there is more chance for water to get into it.

Update, I got my dinali lights hooked up! I connected to the blue/ground and green yellow for power. Dinali’s only come when the handle bar switch at its furthest. I can also use brights with the dinali’s as well.

Has anyone added lights in addition to the OEM driving lights? I'm looking at installing some yellow lights (possibly on engine bars or forks?) to increase my visibility to other drivers. Not sure what the best option for getting switched power to them, any advice?
