Hello All,

I am a new owner of a 2006 B11 and loving it thus far with almost 1K miles added to the 14K miles I purchased it with just two weeks ago. I've been riding mostly British and Japanese for the past 38 years and figured I should experience an Italian bike before I can't ride any longer especially considering I'm 100% Italian with my folks (and brother) coming from the "old country". I would like to get it all sorted out with respect to fluid changes (engine, tranny, and gearbox) and valve clearance check sooner than later. What I have for a shop manual doesn't list the torque values that I can find to service the bike.

Would someone be kind enough to reply with the the following tightening torque values please?

1. engine oil drain plug
2. engine oil filter (15 N-M?)
3. tranny drain and fill plug
4. gearbox drain and fill plug
5. valve cover hex head screws.

I'll be sure to add my bike to the registry with some detailed notes of my impressions.

Thanks,

Tony D.

Hi Tony. Check out the Downloads section for the shop manual for your bike. I believe the torque values are in there.

Best.

As BG said most of the torques are in the service manual. 15Nm is correct for the oil filter. I do not recommend using a torque wrench for the valve cover screws. The value is so low it is easy to over tighten. I recommend using a T handle Allen wrench and only finger pressure to get them snug. Also if you search around this forum you will find recommendations for oil filter and even the service code to reset the service icon.
