Hello all.

I finally found the Guzzi I always wanted and it only took 25 years after I fell in love with the brand.

I just bought a 2004 V11 Sport with 5550 miles on it. It runs great but the fuel tank does not appear to be vented. It builds pressure and the fuel cap must be opened to release it.

Please help!

Thanks in advance

My 2010 Café Classic had the same problem and there was a recall for it. I doubt if yours has the same issue but I would suggest removing the tank and checking the vent tubing, I bet one is pinched. Also I have heard other bikes having the rubber in the cap deformed because of todays fuel. Good luck & welcome to the club.

Welcome Joe, if memory serves correctly, there might be a small rubber plug that can be removed under the cap. Pivot it up, and see if you see one. It's quite small and round. If that doesn't seem to be the case, the tank is/was vented to a charcoal canister, so trace the path and be sure the lines haven't been capped, plugged or pinched. Does it have the evaporative system still on it?

Thanks guys! Just got home from a long day at work but will check the things you listed ASAP. Look forward to many happy miles yet to come.
