Hi!

Let me shortly introduce myself: I'm Mattijs, 27 years old and from Belgium. Since about one year and a half i'm a devote motorcyclist. I've had a '86 Suzuki gsx 400cc caferacer for a while, but I wanted something more modern and reliable and powerful and fell in love with a second hand 2016 Guzzi V7 II special

I want to modify the machine a bit to make it more unique and personal - a tracker/scrambler style look. Ordered a brown leather flat Texavina seat that'll arrive in a few days, planning to cut the rear fender to right below the end of the seat etcetera.

One other adjustment: handlebars and grips! I fitted a black LSL-flat track handlebar and brown grips. After some readjustments to the handlebar (had to cut 3cm's of each end to fit the original handlebar control units and apparently had to drill small holes at the top to fit those as well), it looks neat.

But, i have the hardest time refitting the throttle cable. I really want to avoid having to take out the throttle body so I hope there's a solution. So, the pull-cabel is giving me a hard time. I cannot seem to create enough slack to squeeze the ton-shaped thinghy at the end of the cable back in the hole where it belongs. It seems designed in a way to avoid it coming out of the throttle body by accident, but this means that it is really difficult to fit it back in...

I noticed there are some cable adjusters underneath a rubber sealing at the top of the cable guide near the handlebar. I was hoping that the solution might be to adjust those to create more slack but I did not really manage to figure out how those work (and it was midnight already so my thinking was not that clear and frustration was building haha).

I am not at all technically savy, but hopefully you guys understand the issue and provide me with the golden solution

Kind regards
Mattijs

Just leaving this here for others that might find it usefull: I managed to refit the throttle cable without having to remove the throttle body. Leaving it like it was for a few days (since I had other priorities the last days) I learned how to create more slack on the cable using the adjustment screws near the handlebars. That and a pair of angled pliers did the trick. FYI!
Looks great by the way together with some more subtle mirrors. And soon it’ll look even better with a brown flat Texavina seat!
Guzzi-regards
Mattijs
