Hello all,

I am enjoying my new V7R and I am pleased to find this forum. On Saturday's ride the speedo/odometer started getting erratic. The bike has about 350 miles on the clock. Best I can tell it is not a rain issue although here in Houston it can get pretty humid.

I just checked the cable to the sensor for pinching (ok) and the electric pin connection under the seat (unplugged, sprayed wd40, replugged). I found a V7 post elsewhere on this forum saying the probable culprit is at the sensor input itself. Trying to get to that piece though is eluding me. The gap and access is very narrow. I have neither a lift or center stand. Does anyone have any advice please?

thanks!

I diagnosed the speedo/odo fault at the head frame. When I rock the steering moving the bike out of my garage, the speedo will work for a few minutes, then lose contact. No big deal, the bike is in for its first maintenance today, and I bet MPH here in Houston will fix it. I am also having the oil sump added. The V7R is running strong with +++about+++ 750 miles on it and I could not be happier with the purchase and ride characteristics Longer runs are in my future as Texas is finally heading into fall. Ride safe!

:D
