Hi All,

I recently go a 1984 V65 but there was no Owner's Manual, and the previous owne can't remember what he was running in the bike, so I'm not sure what weight of oil to put in it. I read online that either 10W50 or 20W50 would be suitable. I live in LA, so wondering of the slightly heavier 20W50 would be OK. Don't want to start another oil thread, jus need some options.

Also, it looks, and smells like me transmission breather is dumping oil on top of the transmission case. Can anyone tell me if this piece of kit will work on a V65 transmission, with the addition of a length of hose:

mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=55&products_id=4348

Thanks.

Any major brand 20/50 will be OK, if you get motorcycle oil you will have better additives for air cooling.
You have a smallblock and the breather will puke out. Level is 5mm BELOW the check hole. The link is for a bigblock trans vent.
If you look in downloads you will find manuals for your model, donation is needed for this resource. Well worth it.
I have put a hose on a barb w/threads the correct size, that was over 30 yrs ago.
If you put in new 80/90 keep it well below(5mm) the level hole in the 5sp box, I would use dino oil in everything.
The Service Manual has best info, more than owners man.
