Cycle world just posted a review of the new V7...they are not very impressed.

It's what I suspected once I read they are using the same ECU/TB. Why they didn't use the same TB/ECU as the V85TT(?)... Is another question, and one that will forever remain a head-scratcher.I rode the new V7 Special yesterday at OC Motorcycle's demo event. I was not able to feel the extra HP and torque, at least they were not apparent enough for me. It could be that the demo bike still needs to be broken in. I am 5' 7, about 155lbs with riding gears. Ergo wise, pretty similar to V7 III. Just not enough to convince me to trade up.

Which means the value or my 820cc pistons are a worthwhile investment to those who own V7s!
All 2021 models use a variant of the V85TT engine, including the V9. It was pretty well covered in this section. So did the V7 850 get the same engine setup as the V9 850 or are there three variants of the 850 now with th V85tt
Is it normal that the speedo needle jumps up when starting the bike?
I'm familiar with needle sweeps, but I was actually refering to the jolt of the needle right when he presses the ignition button (@ 0:13 - 0:14).Yeah, on the newer computerized bikes, it's normal for indicator lights to blink and needles to sweep when the key is powered on. Basically sort of a self-diagnostic process.

looks like any other normal start up that I've ever seen.I'm familiar with needle sweeps, but I was actually refering to the jolt of the needle right when he presses the ignition button (@ 0:13 - 0:14).
That does not look normal to me...looks like any other normal start up that I've ever seen.
My bad I was looking at the tachometer. You're right! That does not look normal to me...
