Got a V9 Bobber with only 782 miles on it and read on this forum about folks removing the fuel tank evap control system.
As part of the first service i removed the evap canister and valve and thought 'job done'. but when undoing the fuel filler the tank was obviously still pressurised, to be honest i didn't pay it much attention thinking there is probably an additional valve under the tank to keep the fuel under some pressure. Then one day i filled the tank from a jerry can and overfilled it, came back 2 later and found the fuel had forced its way past the fuel cap seal and run over the side of the tank lifting the tank decal ... aggh!
At this point i put a pressure gauge on the open end of the breather pipe and it was blocked solid, the issue was the fuel tank breather tube under the tank was a bit long and had passed from the left side of the tank up over the frame spine, then when the tank was bolted down it had crushed the tube blocking it.
Might be worth checking if you removed your evap system and the tank still holds pressure.
Hope this help someone
