My bike is about 18 months old and my second batteryis now dead. Anyone else having problems ? I have nothing hooked up that will draw current, I even have the factory red led in the dash turned off.

Did you put the 2nd battery into service yourself? Have you checked voltage at the terminals with the engine turning?

My 2C, THeses bikes are very battery sensitive - It took me three batterys in 12 months but I now have a good one that just works.

Don't whatever you do buy a battery from a bike shop IME they are generally crap - both the product and the individual item. The specialist battery dealers know batteries, bike dealers know bikes, and never the two shall meet.

The batteries used are just very delicate - one day they work, the other day they're dead, or almost. That's progress for you.

Mike, a Yuasa battery is the same whether you buy it from your dealer or your local supermarket. Just don't let anyone prepare the battery (unless it's someone who rides a limegreen G8V ;) )

How long have you left the bike without running it? Even with the flashing LED turned off there is still current being taken by the electronics.
These batteries are really too small, and have little reserve. The one thing any lead based battery doesn't like is being left flat. This will kill it in short order.
I assume you don't have the factory alarm/security device fitted too? That certainly does drain the battery.
If you have put the battery on charge regularly with a good quality automatic charger (my favourite is the CTEK 3600) then there must be another cause.

The bike sat for about 2 weeks. I'm going to put it on a charger. Where I bought the battery the salesman said to bring it back and they would replace no questions asked.

Follow the recommended charge procedure for the battery in question to a tee, it does matter.
