Back from a 6000 km trip from Holland to the Norwegian fjords. If god created a country for motorriding..... I've found it. Rode over Germany-Denmark-Sweden. Arriving in Norway I went from Oslo in the direction of Stavanger then Bergen, Trondheim, Lillehammer and along the Swedish border to Oslo and back to Holland. Just to give you roughly the route I took.

One of first typical Norwegian things I passed was a Stave-church. This is one of the bigger ones .

The next day already I saw the first snow. Just 500 meters above sea-level and an outside temperature of 27 deg. celsius. My sidestand was sinking into the tarmac after 10 minutes already. Their tarmac is for lower temperatures i guess.

What you also will see often in Norway are waterfalls. This one just misted out over the road and passing it gave me a free fresh shower...

Then I met a really nice Bavarian on a BMW R100 RT at a gasstation. He was also alone on tour through Norway and after a short chat, we decided to set our tents up at a lake for the night and ride together for the next one or two days.

Of course we wanted some pictures of our own while riding our bikes and we spent almost an hour riding up and down and this is one of me cornering, my first "action shot" :p

After that we saw one of the most beautiful fjords of Norway. The Geirangerfjord. Often visited by cruise-ships, three at the same time on this day.

The next day we went our own way again and I had to clear the roads from rocks all by myself again....

After the hard work to clear the road, I visited the Jostedalbreen. The third largest glacier in Europe. 475 sq. km of ice an incredible sight.

After this impressive sight, I decide to go for some serious riding, the famous off-road track. They are only open in july-august and maintenanced by local farmers who will get the toll for it. They have a length between 5 and 75 km. and go through National parcs where you will only find some shelter cabins for hikers.

Hey man, My toast is geting soggy and the tea is getting cold - eagerly waiting for the rest... great pics.

This one looked easy to ride, but when it started to rain, it became a tricky one. I slipped and fell into a ditch with my bike. One pannier had come loose and layed on the road. I was very lucky, no injuries and just the lock of the pannier, a handguard and my rainsuite were damaged. A passing farmer helped me picking up the bike and offered my his shed to fix the pannier and look for any further damage. Just a pic of the road and not of the accident, because I had to take care of other things of course.

Well everything ok and fixed I went on a mission for my mother. As she is a big fan of speedskating, she told me not to come back without pictures of the Vikingskippet. This multifunctional hall was build for the 1994 Olympic speedskating tournament. The design is a Vikingship laying upside down. O.K. mission completed Mum.

Just took a picture overlooking a part of Oslo on the way home, because I'll visit the city on one of the Norwegian trips in the future for sure.

Looks like you really enjoyed your trip, except your little off, but that happens sometimes, and you got to sample the local's hospitality!
