Does anyone know where to buy the friction clutch plates for 1973 Nuovo Falcone ..I can get the plain plates and the one single sided plate, but cant find any double sided plates part # 10082301 They have the round tags on them..I can get them recoated but need the original thickness...dont know this either..I would prefer to buy original parts..I need x 7 of them. Thanks

Performance

Thanks for the contacts...I will let you know how It goes,..Another question, This bikes performance is docile Eg: when going up hills and not big hills just average inclines the motor in top 4th gear lacks power and I drop back to 3rd at 60 - 80 km to get up..Is this normal for this bike? Its only 26hp in the manual at 214Kg so based on that it is underpowered..

I've ridden a friends N.Falcone a few times. It's a supremely relaxed ride, possibly due to it being an ex-carabineri bike & maybe geared for escort duty. But as far as I know they're all beautifully docile, even the civilian models. A few people have tried tuning them for higher performance but I can't really see the point....they're never going to be Manx Nortons or AJS 7Rs. They're endearing & amiable donkeys not thoroughbred race horses, so I'd accept the performance as it is and enjoy the ride as it is. Loads of character and a step back in time to when the world moved at a more gentle pace. Saying all that, they're still one hell of a lot faster than my Ercole!

I bought a set of new clutch plates from Escher in Germany, they are well stocked and have a good knowledge of the old one cylinder models.

oh, I have tuned my N. Falcone hard, they do this in house, big bore(94mm) ported head with large valves, dual spark and bigger carb. and I have put on it a light flywheel. I fu..ed up the timing and melted my cylinder head so it is now my winter project! :D

To update you on this, I have ordered the clutch kit + springs from www.escher.de They said there was only one Italian supplier they can get them from, I think it is Surflex but they don't sell direct. Will let you know when they turn up. My hunt for more HP is still an Issue as I feel the standard bike should perform better. I will pull down the top end and have a look after the new clutch is fitted..Big bore kit sounds interesting but the amiable donkey is still a good ride. Guzzi on!

 I think that the main reason for my NF's lacklustre performance, lies in the fact that it weighs more than a baby elephant!

I do not think it weigh that much, mine came up with just above 200 kgs on the official weighing. What realy does not make any sense is why Guzzi did not put just a little more power into the engine when they constructed the thing. For God sake, they made the little sister, the stornello 160ccm with 17 hp and this lump of a 500 with only 9 hp more, makes no sense!

  My NF makes 25bhp, and weighs 212kgs. My 1200 Griso makes 110bhp, and weighs 222kgs. I rest my case!!!!!.
