Hello everybody. Quite a long time since last word with Guzzitech. I finished my nice V75, and did the fine tuning jobs. very interesting. After a few hundred miles around, I realised that the performance was not as expected.
well, the compression on one side is low. so , lets go for a valve grinding first...
Although a long time bike freak, I am a newcomer to Guzzis, and never did this operation before.
any tips for taking heads of and work on the valves? there is always a little something to know, to make it well and not break anything on the job?
so, please, feel free to teach an old beginner. thanks to all, and good rides. Hervé

If you do valves, also do the rings. Also I recommend you do both sides to keep everything even. The Guzzi engine is probably the easiest to work on. Just pay attention to gasket and o-ring placement. Also lay out the push rods to keep them on the same lifter. Have a band and clamp ring compressor to install the cylinders. On assembly, torque in stages. Also let it sit overnight and torque again before starting the engine. Re-torque after 500 miles. The ring compressor should be something like this

thank you John, all this is appreciated. As you said , the Guzzi engine is fairly simple to work on. Real mechanical assemblies, and nothing tricky!

If you ever plan to come to Europe, keep my adress, and fell free to stop here.

nice rides to you. H.
