Folks, I am not sure if I am wording this quite right but, on the right side of bike, just behind the center stand, there is a neoprene tube with a plug in it. The parts list calls it a "fuel pipe" coming out of the air box. I find this full of oil when I pull the plug. Not knowing what the heck I was doing I put the plug back in before too much oil was lost (less than an oz.).

What is this thing, and should there be oil coming out of it?

Other than the parts list I couldn't find any mention of it. I scanned through rather quickly so it is possible that I missed something.

Can anyone give me an idea what this all about?

Thanks in advance.

nice to hear it works:)

Its just a drain for blow-by. Only catches oil on mine now if I've topped off the oil a little too high

Yes, it's just a drain for the airbox, to rid it of any oil blown up there by the engine breather. Assuming the sump is not overfilled, then you ought not to be getting much out of it, but check it every now and again.

In fact if you *don't* drain it, it can get sucked back into the inlet side and you end up laying down a smoke screen. Pretty scary when it first happened to me.

That is the reason i disconnected my breather hose from the airbox it now goes to a seperate bottle,it cant be good for performance allowing 'blow-by' into the engine ,another component of emission control dealt with!. Do i feel guilty over the environmental consequences of my actions ?..hmm now let me think.....not on this occasionB)
