I have noticed some oil spreading on the oil filler bolt on the CARC and also the transmission filler plug. The bike has had its first service a year ago and has just about 1600kms on it. Is this due to excess oil filling by the service tech or any other reasons? On the CARC I'm not able to understand if the oil is leaguing from the rubber cover or from the filler plug. It can't possibly spread from bottom to top. Puzzled!! IMG 9797 IMG 9798 IMG 9797

Take the filler bolts out to see if it's been over filled. Hold the bike level off the side stand and any excess in the gearbox will run out, it should only be filled to the hole when the bike it vertical. The CARC should be filled so it just touches the bottom of the top up hole.

If you roll up the bottom of the rubber cover you'll see the metal band securing that. it's the type they use on cv boots. If it's been replaced by a cable tie it'll leak, it needs the metal band.

The rear drive is likely from the breather on an overfill scenario and/or residual, which is likely on the fill bolt on the trans as well. Clean it up and see if it persists after you check the level. I'm not a fan of the filler bolt showing correct levels.
