Oilbar slackened

Dudes,

now for the second time my oilbar vibrated loose while driving and a pretty decent amount of oil spilled out before I realized the issue and could stop. This is not only brutally annoying but also dran pestilent.
Engine, tyres and even the road were splattered and polluted with oil !
Did you ever come across this flaw and if so any remedy for it?

Throughts, ideas?

THX a lot

Greetings from Germany

Not sure what you mean by "oilbar", but if you're referring what we in the US call a dipstick, yes, it's a problem that many of us, including myself, have had. My solution is to make sure that the O-ring is properly seated and the cap is tightened well (I use a channel-lock type pliers with a light touch). Others have substituted a third-party temperature gauge/dipstick combo, which doesn't seem to have this problem.

Indeed I meant the dipstick, Sorry for my inept English...
Channel locking it is the very first measure I gonna apply going forward. Beyond that I just spotted this helpful trick in Wildguzzi under

wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=47646.0

to drill a hole to feed a loop through and lock it to the frame. Quick and really dirly but should help the situation so far

thx for replies!

Nice bid and can certainly help to fasten the dipstick better, that said I dont see how it could entirely preclude the dipstick from getting loose, though.
Locking it with any kind of wire is unevitable anyway, I find.

thx for sharing

Hey just be careful with the channel locker, I managed to over tighten and break my dipstick without too much pressure.

The only time mine comes off is when the engine is warm and I am checking the oil. It is, in my findings, much easier to get it off and then re-tightened with the added heat.

Nice find Joe. You guys interested in one in aluminum? I can likely do them for the same pricing.

No, but let me know when you come up with a way of removing a Norge dipstick without damaging your fingers!

Wrong thread, but MG Cycle used to offer the long extension version. Try them.

Thanks for the late warning, already chip one tooth off the damn thing with the channel locks. I'm going to order that little red thing.
