Outex tubeless conversion for spoke wheels

Thanks, Scott.

I have that as one of my over-winter projects for my two V7's, but have, especially now, some misgivings of the "leave well enough alone"" sort.

Good cautions, well explained. The pix were very clear as to what you meant.

Now, know that I do not doubt for a moment what you say about the reason to center the beads from both sides before inflating, but it would seem -- to someone, ich, who's never done this except in his head -- that the significant pressure at play during inflation would push to the outside wherever the beads were. It thus seems unlikely (again to me who has never done it) that the bead on one side would be so far to the other other to implicate the tape on inflation.

Don't roll your eyes and launch into a detailed explanation as this may be quite clear to other readers.

Too early for a free lunch, but time for a late breakfast, of the "sort of free" sort, as this is usually my job, but today Kathi is making it. :giggle::inlove:

I resolved this issue on my California Stone with the assistance of the Holy Trinity (Todd, Scott and John Zibell), who walked me through the process of swapping the tubeless aluminium wheels from an earlier, donor EV onto my Stone.
Repairing a tube may be OK for some but when touring in Europe with a fully loaded bike (including the wife!), the ease of inserting a plug and inflating the tyre in ten minutes is a powerful argument for the tubeless option.
