Hello,

Long time lurker on the site. I own a 2020 V85TT in the yellow colour scheme. This is my first Moto Guzzi…but I’m looking at a V7 Anniversario as a second bike.

I ride my v85tt off road quite frequently…and have decided that this winter I’ll make the changes I want to make to it.

I’m planning on “uncorking” it as they say. Open up the air box, SAS delete, Mistral big bore, cat delete.

My only unknown is UpMap vs RB Evo. I’m researching that.

One issue I do have: My bike consumes over a litre of oil every 1000km (about 1qt / 600 miles). This consumption is very dependent on RPM. I am in touch with my dealer to find out what the acceptable consumption is. Trying to get a leakdown test.

Cheers,

Winston

I hate to tell you this, but I'm sure you got one of the ones with bad rings. If that bike is by any chance in warranty have the dealer call Piaggio and get them to fix it. If not a leak down test and or compression test will prove it also. They know they are bad and although I doubt they will help the dealer at least needs to try. I have posts here on it and there are a couple of others. I will try to link them if I find them. Either way it is their fault and they know it!
If they don't, you just need rings, gaskets and about four hours labor. It takes as long to clean out the carbon as it does to fix it.

I have a 2017 V7 III Anniversario and in 30,000 KM it has never needed oil added. I do the scheduled oil changes and that is it. Does not burn a single drop. Also not a single bike issue in 30,000 of riding. Any issues that did come up were solely my own fault.

Vagrant! Glad you are here! Always benefited from your insights.

I am pretty much 100% sure that is the issue. I have an extended warrantee...but I've been complaining since about 3000km. I'm on em about it.

That's interesting. Note that it's my V85tt that eating the oil. But good to know that this is "not all guzzi's"

For the v7 the owner and I can't quite meet on pricing. But it's not moving for him.

What number Anniversario do you have?

If you are going to be in the Comox Valley before the end of October let me know and you can take mine for a ride.
I can resist anything but temptation. That is a devilish offer :)

When we ride....I want us both to have one!

Question: how hard is that chrome to maintain?
