Couldn’t recall if this was posted before but just replaced the pannier mounting bolts with these little guys. No more reaching for tools if you want to pop the panniers off.

Hey those look like they'll work for the battery cover on my old Eldo.
M6x20mm.
$12.29 for 6 (Walmart)
Thanks for the post.

Alex

I can easily find M8x25mm. In your opinion, is the 20mm the maximum length or 25 will fit?

Thanks for posting Robert! I had done the same thing with the bags on my Royal Star Venture and Royal Star Tour Deluxe. Makes tire changes and general cleaning much simpler.

Just received the m6/20 knobs.
The knobby part is too large to use on 850 Eldorado battery covers. See picture (ignore Hodag) Knobs
I'll turn them down and post if I succeed.

Alex

Well I tried installing them W/O turning them down. They bump the cover a bit while tightening, but go on OK. Going to shorten the threaded rod a bit.
Thanks for the idea!

Really good idea for making things simpler. I'm all over this. You have any ideas on how to make the removal/install of the side case kit/mount for the panniers just as simple?
