Anyone heard(know) what's going on with Piaggio up here? Last I heard was Piaggio (US) was taking over the importation and taking charge of looking after the dealers. That would be around the end of December. Guzzi Can website was shut down , The importer/dealer where I bought my bike has removed all external signs with Piaggio/Aprillia/Guzzi from their exterior. They now also have Yamaha scooters in stock. Since Dec. have heard ,nor seen any new information. My spider senses are tingling ( I sense a shitty situation coming). Curious.

FB, I haven't checked my local dealer lately but they still seem very active, I'll try and pop in this week and ask how the changes will affecting us. IIRC your dealer wasn't so hot on customer service, so not much of a loss there.

The dealer I bought my bike from in Kelowna (area Yamaha dealer) told me that all parts into Canada arrived via the states in the past. Then a Canadian distributor was selected to look after Piaggio / Guzzi but as such had done a poor job of supporting the brand. Now we are back to the way it had been in the past. My dealer says they still support the bikes with parts and service. Personally I think it's a change for the good.

My dealer had a meeting with Piaggio a couple of weeks ago in Toronto to discuss the new distribution arrangement and obtain his new dealer number. It sounds like things are falling into place with Piaggio USA handling Canadian distribution. Parts which had been backordered or unavailable through the Canadian Scooter Corporation are now arriving at dealerships. I am cautiously optimistic that this will work out for the best.
On the down side, Piaggio is not going to market a full line of Moto Guzzi products in Canada until they re-assess the Canadian market. This means that the Stelvio will NOT be sold in Canada in 2010. :( Makes me glad I bought mine in November! :D
Cheers,
Bruce

Once I started to deal exclusively with the right guy at the dealer, I had no further issue with anything. Sad though it had to get to the point where I was completely pissed off by the wanker lip service specialists. Only problem with dealers in the area is I have my doubts as to wether any will be interested. Other than the dealer I bought from, the remaining two showed a definite lack of interest in the brand, more interested in promoting some kind of mtv type lifestyle horse shit. You know , tattoos on site ect. or getting one to believe that , riding a vespa you'll be just like Peter O'toole in Monaco. uh yeah ... right. I 'll have to drop by one of these days soon and find out what gives with the guy.

One dealer in the States that I've started ordering some Guzzi accessories from is Moto International in Seattle. They are VERY GOOD to deal with, very up on the product and work hard for the business. Have found their prices very good as well. If your Canadian dealer is not doing it re parts or accessories give these guys a call.

I agree with the last post, MI in Seattle is excellent, I bought my bike from them and extra parts as well, they do go the extra mile and do know the product.
