Hello all my name is Garrett, and I just purchased my first guzzi. 2016 V7II special abs with 12000 miles

I know these bikes have there quirks but I brought it home last night I noticed when i push it into the garage there was a loud creaking (similar to an old door without wd40) coming from the rear wheel. I pinpointed it to the right side where the diff or transmission is.
I noticed that the longer the bike sat the quieter the noise became and this morning it was gone
I have noticed as well that it whines quite a bit while riding.
I just wanted to know is this just a quirk of some guzzis or is something amiss here. Thank you!

also the bike has had its 12000 mile service done at the dealer before i bought it including new fluid for the rear. I confirmed the correct level of fluid this morning

I just checked the service records and noticed that the only gear fluid I see listed that was used is 80w90. I'm assuming it was used for both transmission/diff and gearbox. could this be the culprit?

The rear drive should have 85w140 fully synthetic gear oil. The lighter oil may not be the cause, but I would recommend getting the correct weigh oil into the rear drive. The downloads section has the work shop manual for specifications.

The first thing I do on the rare occasions I get a used bike is to dump ALL oils and filters. I don't give a crap what anybody says they did to it. Be careful about the quantities. Study up here. I'm not sure if you have a 500 CC tranny or a 1000. That includes the brake fluid. Search here about the ABS change as it's easy to get air in the rear brake system.
As for the squeak, shocks, turn lights hitting a saddle bag support???

Thanks guys! I just changed out the fluid back there with the correct stuff. No more noise even after a 15 mile ride. Im gonna change out the gearbox and engine oil next.

Thanks guys! Im happy to be part of the community
