All -

I apologize if this is answered elsewhere. I found great resources for each of these maintenance items but no infor regarding which order to perform them.

Background, I just got my ECM back from Todd for reflashing. I need to reset the TPS, and I have a new Centurion-S with which to do so. My bike has about 5,000mi, so I was also thinking about checking the valves and the throttle body balance.

#1 Is it advisable to check valves & TB sync at this mileage?
#2 If so, what order would I want to do this in? Seems to me I'd start with the valves. Then what?

Thanks,

Matt

Re: Recommended order of Valve adj, TPS reset and TB Balance

Generally I do not mess with anything when installing a new electrical part. But I think a valve adjustment is fine.

Order I do mine:
Valves
TPS (see if it's in range - usually is, if not reset)
TB Sync
TPS reset.

Doesn't hurt - tune up interval is 6500 miles but since your in the area may as well get it done.

Re: Recommended order of Valve adj, TPS reset and TB Balance

Hi,

I would do as Rafael does.
Valves
TPS check/reset
TB balance
TPS check/reset

But between valves and the first TPS I would look at the air filter, if it is clean enough.
You are checking and resetting your inlet parts, the air filter is a part of it.
