Regulator rectifier

    I have built a special based on a 1979 Spada.Completly rewired the bike and am now after a Japanese reg/rect unit.Can anyone recommended a suitable unit? Or a BMW one ?

    As far as I know all that works with the Bosch alternator are a separate rectifier and voltage regulator. Output is varied by the current supplied to the rotor so the stock type components are you best bet. Possibly upgrading to an electronic regulator may be doable. See this page for possible substitute diode board and regulator. motoelekt.com/charging.htm He is located in the US but I think can do international shipping.

    Interesting. Only missing the line for the charge indicator. Didn't know that was available, now I do.

    Just fitted a "Electrex RR45" to my Mk1 Le Mans with a Bosch alternator. Nice tidy unit made for guzzi's complete with charge light/exciter. works well and easy to fit.

    Yes,got a RR45 from Gutsibits here in the uk.Not cheap at £112 post paid but it's a quality piece of kit and is specifically designed for my application. Result.!
    Going to fit it today.
