The manual does not tell you how to replace the licence (number) plate bulb but here's how.

Remove the seat and disconnect the wires for the rear light, indicators and licence plate bulb.

Remove the rear light assembly. A bit of a fiddle but helped by removing the rear side panel screws to allow the panels to flex a little but enough for the light assembly to come free.

Remove the rearmost fender/mudguard which contains the licence plate bulb holder. This requires the removal of five bolts one where the rear light was, two underneath the fender/mudguard and two under the seat near the tool roll area.

You can now pull the bulb holder and bulb away from it's locating hole or undo the two nuts holding the holder to the fender/mudguard.

Pull out the bulb from it's rubber housing and push a new one in and reverse the assembly procedure.

Takes about 20 minutes and is a pain for one little bulb I'm afraid.

You should consider replacing it with an LED. Much longer life.

Good idea. It's a small bulb in a small space. Any specific experience replacing it, or any specific suggestions?
