Hi,

Been struggling for years, since 2011, with lots of sometimes small, other times big, electrical problems with my 2009 Stelvio. Parts of the harness has been bypassed, the starter conversion was been done, fuse holders replaced, etc. As I want to keep the bike is it feasible to rewire the whole bike from scratch rather than trying to retro-fit a £1000 original harness, with all the gremlins waiting to happen again?

That would be a big undertake, to make a new harness. I've made 5, very tedious for sure.
Easier to plug & play a stock one, takes all day. Did a Griso & Norge so far
Use the system in the store, works for Todds Bikes.

I've spent a reasonable amount of time searching, but can't find a 2009 Stelvio wiring harness in the Store. Or were you meaning something else. Lots of neat stuff there, but ....

Wiring is one of the few mechanical pleasures you can experience and still have clean
hands when you're done :) ! And hey , good things take time ! Peter

Lannis, I think Steve was referring to the mUnit HERE. This is what we use on our custom builds. It is not an easy undertaking, but it is incredibly simplistic and bulletproof. It requires a complete rewire. This allows the ECU to only control the engine management, and the mUnit everything else including the starter circuitry. No fuses or relays needed. I can’t/won’t get into it any more here though. Hope that helps answer it.

Yes, that makes your bike simple again, if you want to spend the time to do it.
If you want stock you may have to get it from EU.
