Well, I see that no one has hazarded a guess in my attempt to revive the "name that road" thread. Sigh.

So, I'll just post this while I try to come up with better clues or another road that's easier to recognize. ;)

Anyway, a Guzzi friend in Rochester, N.Y., has a wife who is as indulgent as my Kathi. She and their daughters surprised Bob 10 years ago on his 60th birthday with a new Guzzi. They recently reprised that gift with another on Bob’s latest.

Guzzista and N.J. friend, Nick, and I saw this as an opportunity and excuse for a road trip. After all, a new Moto Guzzi must be blessed with Grappa!

So, Nick and I rode from here at the top of Virginia to Rochester this past Sunday, spent Monday in area, and came home on Tuesday.

We were blessed ourselves with some incredibly fine weather on all three days, but were sure glad we got home before yesterday’s drenching rain.

But, of course, you ache for the pix. :giggle:

The link opens in what Smugmug calls “collage landscape,” which means you can see all of the pix at once. And, if you care, hover your cursor over a pic to see the captions. Some captions are truncated in the wee pix, so — again, if you care! — open the guilty photo to see the full comment.

P.S. For the nervous “Kovid Keepers” out there, know that, with occasional exceptions, Nick, I, and the others followed the rules in public. Well, OK, with the possible exception of our actual invasion of New York State without a C-test!

Thank you so much for the pictures. You all look so happy, and I loved the food pornography!

    Ain't that the truth!

I think I have said here before that I tend to view meteorology as making astrology and alchemy seem to be hard sciences! :giggle:

Yet, for way longer than usual for those folks, the various weather sites were predicting warm, dry, and sunny conditions for much of the U.S.'s mid-Atlantic and northeast. Odd for early November ... and they stuck it. The day after we got back, we got almost two inches of rain, but not a drop on us for three days of riding!

We WERE happy. I know it pleased Bob and his wife for us to ride up to admire his gift, and we had a super time with them and friends in Rochester. Moreover, the roads are simply stupendous when riding north through central Pennsylvania ... an oddly unpopulated area in many spots. Those are especially fun for motorcycles as they go up sinuous valleys, or run along ridge tops for miles, or cross the various mountains of the Appalachian chain. Grand. Simply grand. told my wife that if that were the last ride I ever made I simply could not complain about the cards I've been dealt. Happily, I think I have a few more hands I can play. ;)

And, ah, yes, the porn.

    Excellent pics as always.
We were blessed with the same wonderful weather for a week, even up here in the Wilds of Quebec. I was putting in 100 mile rides each day after shortened 6 hour work days. When the weather is that amazing in November who can think about work.
Now sadly riding season is nearly done. Maybe a handful of good days left.
