yeah, I haven't heard from them in a while. I hope they are ok, and didn't drop Guzzi.

René and I trade words via FB, but I haven't seen or heard from Holt in a very long time. People tend to sway over the years from Guzzi ownership, and go to other websites if they don't get traction here, or are occasionally offended. René still has his Norge, just hasn't been riding it much. I'll see if I can get him to check in here.

    By popular request then :)

As Todd says, I haven't been riding much, probably even less than he implied. I'm simply not going through the easiest phase of my life. Being out of work, over-specialised and over-40s and in a region that simply has next to nothing to offer to me job-wise means I spend most of my time at home trying to keep at least some of my skills sharp, and means I have very little reason to go out riding now that I know most of the roads and my gf got rid of her scooter (guess *that* is news to some :)), which also means that big biking trips are more or less out of the question now.
In the meantime, if I have to go somewhere there is usually sufficient reason or at least pretext to take the car (cheaper, too: similar mileage but diesel is much cheaper than regular gas here). And in the end it's not like it's a chore to drive rather than ride on the roads we have here.
I've been wondering lately if I should hang on to the Norge, but there's been talk Anne might get a proper biking license, so I'm not rushing that decision. I just really should do some maintenance, planned DIY for the first time, but the local Guzzi pal with whom I'll be doing it spends most of his free time building an extension to his house. Somehow it seems that doing engine work with cement dust floating around isn't the best of ideas, so I've been putting that off (too :-/). I have already arranged with my car mechanic I'll be getting the oil and parts through him for a good price, though :)

Anything else, just ask. I do check the RSS feed from the forum from time to time, but it's been quite a while that I've been tempted to hang out on biking forums - be it here or the French forums I once squatted. Or on other forums that aren't somehow related to "professional" activities, but even that's mostly mailing list based nowadays.

    Ok Mon Ami.
At least we know you are ok, Sorry, but I am so old, I have the forum, Email and even a mobile phone...
But I do not use the You & Twit & Face stuff.
Some younger people I know, seem to live in that bubble......???? What is RSS feed ?
No, never mind, I do not need to know. Sorry I asked .

So far, Ely Nevada, has been nice & warm, tomorrow we carry on to Lee Vining Ca. to do some camping so we probably will not have any WiFI.
Will be in touch as & when

RSS is a news syndication protocol that allows sites to publish (summarise) "news" (like forum posts) in a standard way that can then be read by dedicated applications. If you're really "that old" you may remember Usenet News: RSS is comparable except that it only allows you to read articles, not post or reply.
It's often integrated with email applications (like Thunderbird); it's great for keeping up to date quickly without having to click around on a website.
