Look what followed me home on Saturday. Traded my '00 Bassa for this '10 V7C.

Need to strip off some of the touring stuff and caf' it out.

I put a few miles on it, putting around town. It's going to be a fun little commuter!

Congrats! But... what is that hanging on the luggage bracket in the photo? Is that a "factory" case?

Pelican Cases with quick release hardware. Pretty slick, really, but probably more at home on an ADVbike.

Playing with the bike a little bit. Removed the windscreen and the Pelicans. Rearanged the bracing, added the latches to the racks, added my 30L Hepcos.

Still need to install the Triumph T-Bird Sport handlebars, and decide what to do about mirrors. Bar-end, or V11 Sport. Need to try the Norton Peashooters and see how I like them.

Took it for a 10 mile spin this morning. What a nice little bike these V7 Classics are. Just a lot of fun tooling around.

One issue is the valve covers are leaking like seives. I did pull the valve covers and replaced the tattered gaskets with new, but still they leak. Going to pull them again and check to make sure they're properly fitted.

Will probably try and ride it to work this week.

Time for changing your nick to "Rocket 59" ...

Congrats to the SB !

yes, congrats, Rocker....saw the post on ADV as well. i think i'll be starting my own thread as well ;)

like the idea of the pea-shooters....compliments the lines of the bike the best me thinks.

looking good, enjoy.

The Triumph T-Bird Sport bars installed:

I've been holding on to these bars for just this application! They have a slight "M-bar" profile to them. I have them right-side-up now, but this bend would also work well upside-down as "clubman" bars. I tried them that way first, but opted for right-side-up for now.

Had to punch and drill holes to locate the switchgear. Also had to source a couple of M5 bolts to mount the factory bar-ends to the Triumph bars, which have threaded plugs in them. These bars are 28.5" wide...

I really like the bend. They are much lower than the stockers, but still "standard" looking. And, the best part is that the cost was $0, vs. the $300+ price of factory clipons.
