My buddy's V11 shifts rough most of the time from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th. It seems less noticeable when revving slow or very fast. Is there an adjustment to improve shifting? The bike has about 20k miles, seems too low for a trans problem. Oil and clutch fluids are fresh. Any help is appreciated.

It has been my experience with several different Guzzis that shifting problems are mostly caused by the clutch dragging (failing to release completely).

Have you tried to bleed the clutch at the slave cylinder? Or maybe change the hydraulic fluid in the clutch system?

It's probably what's needed, but I gotta tell ya it's not much fun.

Naturally, YMMV.

I was thinking along the same lines. I was hoping it was excessive moisture or air in the system. I bled the clutch hydraulics at the slave cylinder. I was able to squeeze my hand and wrench in adjacent the tire -wasn't too bad. Test drove it again symptoms unchanged.

V11's are also have issues with the linkage for the shifter binding up.
Make sure it moves freely at all the joints.

Good idea, I assumed that the six speed trans doesn't have the linkage issue of the old tontis.

Checked the linkage, looks clean, lubed, and moves smoothly, the angle of the rod looks about 90 degrees to the lever attached to the trans.

Bad news? Does this mean that the gears are going?
