Safety Heads Up: Breva 1100 Throttle Cable Routing/Brake Lev

Hi,

Just a head's up to check your throttle cable routing on your Breva 1100. One of the throttle cable's adjuster nut was resting on the leading edge of front brake lever in the vicinity of the hinge point which was not allowing the brake lever to fully release when letting go of it. Was just keeping it from the full release point by not more than 1mm. Brake fluid expanding from repeated heavy use, sending fluid back to the MC which has its vent hole blocked by the partially applied brake, pads dragging slightly from slight application by the throttle cable, a bit of wind pressure from speed further keeping the lever from releasing plus some voodo shit for good measure and next thing you know: front brake lock up.

Ask me how I know.

Cheers for that, mine are OK.

BTW, the rubber sleeves need to go over the adjusters, not over the bend.

Thanks.

Yes, I just slipped the sleeves off to make the issue more visible.

On my Norge they are routed under the brake lever thus are well away from it. Never seen them routed above like that.

My Breva is as the OP, both over.

I have a 2007 1200 Sport that USE to have the cables over the top of the brake lever. When I put on heated grips I put them under the lever with no problems as I thought it looked a bit better??? This option might sort out your problem.
