I have a 2009 Griso 8V with 5375 miles. I noticed yesterday that on the display it now says "Service" & the little red triangle in the upper right corner is on. What gives! Runs fine.

The diagnostics are self-explanatory but Ill explain anyway. I'm like that.

Whilst stationary (bike doesnt have to be running), set the trip switch on the left switchgear to MODE.
Press the function button till the menu pops up.
Press and hold function.
Press and release function till you get to Diagnostics.
Press and hold function.
Using the function quickly to change the number, and press and hold to move to the next character, enter the code 12425.
Use function to scroll down to ECU FAULTS.
Press and hold.
You can now scroll through the fault code list. Note down any with an X where it says ACTIVE.
You can exit the menus at any time by simply setting the Trip switch to Trip1/2.

Pete & GuzziHero,
Thanks for your quick response.
Only removal of the ail box snorkel.
I turned it on this morning & had the service warning. Started it & ran it down the driveway. Looked at the dash & everything was normal!! Your right, the dash system is junk.
It ran fine all day.
I had read the manual the night before & this is a statement that I read on page 63,
"If warning lights or the SERVICE icon light up for short periods of time, this does not indicate malfunctioning."
I knew after reading that what I was in for!! In other words these warning lights could mean DANGER of not a god damn thing. Go figure.
I figure it might have happened the night before when I started the bike up for the ride home from work & it was cold & damp. It stalled, then restarted a little roughly. It must have run a little rich & set off the light. I had a GMC truck that did that & after it ran a few miles it shut itself off.
What does a "short period of time mean"? Different things to different people I guess.

if the bike was standing in the rain shortly before it happened, it could have been water in the poorly-sealed speedo sensor causing it to fail for a moment.

Here's a guide on how to seal it https://www.guzzitech.com/tech/39-elec ... uzzis.html . worth doing whether this was the problem or not.

I just had to buy a new one cos mine frazzled. I simply sprayed it in clear enamel.

Thanks GuzziHero. Do you have the link for the dash board seal trick? I know it's not just the bezel but the whole unit.
