Shorter Fork Springs?

Not being able to source the correct spring in a linea rate, until now,was my problem.
I couldnt find anyone who listed any linea spring for the Lemans 1000.
Trying to match sizes also became difficult.
(I am guessing you will say,did you ask Todd?)
The springs i got were slightly smaller in diametre.

Ok,i think i have my brain onboard now.

Yes,i understand how to determine if your spring is too light or too heavy by measuring sag.

Yes,i also understand that a linea springs rate does not change by increasing or decreasing pre load.Only ride height.

After measuring sags,my 0.95s are on the heavy side.
But this is ok as they now allow me to run 40mm of sag instead of 25.
This lowers my front by 15mm improving turn in with no bottoming , yet.
I think 0.90 would be better

Could i weld some extra wire on the end to make them lighter? :)

Thanks for cleansing my brain cells and your time.
Much appreciated.

Sounds good. I like springs on the stiffer side. I feel that it allows me to run less compression dampening, which improves road feel (at least in my mind).
My Daytona runs even stiffer springs than you are running, but I am over 200 lbs.
If you ever do cut springs down, the goal when cutting them is to keep them from getting hot. Heating up spring steel messes with its spring properties. So, you couldn't "weld" extra wire on them to make them lighter. Maybe you could use JB Weld ;-)

I always enjoy talking about things like this. It is a relief from my over technical job, if that makes sense.

Yes,i agree. The std Bitubo dampers are limited in the comp department so i am happy with them being slightly heavy as i am with my other bikes.
Some people who ride my bikes think my suspensions are too firm.Personal choice.
But i have confidence now that when the pace rises all my bikes are planted.
My Centona thing, pictured left, has 1.0 kg springs which work great on the road and track.

Yes,i also understand tempering.

So JB weld sounds like the go then ;)

I also understand what you mean about bikes being a good distraction from what we are paid to do.

Enjoyed chatting
