I have to remove a side panel on my 2016 Eldorado to get to the wiring harness plugs for my Guzzi multimedia and for the OEM fog lights to be installed. I removed the front and back retaining crews but there is a "Trick" to finding the mid fastening device???

Any link to a shop manual possible or any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Sky

If you do a search on "1400 side panels" (without quotes) you will get your answer.
Out of curiosity I tried this search. I got this post and a couple fuel tank panels. The image Skyguyz posted did not come up so maybe he is discussing the fuel tank panels but I was thinking of the actual side covers on the frame. Going by the plugs he was mentioning I thought maybe the Eldo had similar covers around the steering neck like the Tour I had. Either the photo needs to show up or a bit more info on which cover.

I'm assuming that the Eldorado side panels are similar to a Custom, the parts manual suggests so.

The front and back retaining screws are vertical, they screw down from above. The "mid" fastening device is another similar screw, it is horizontal, but you might not notice it unless you get down on your knees and look under the side panel.

As John states above, the side bolt hides under the eagle. You do not need to remove these to remove the tank. I highly recommend removing the outer valve cover covers to avoid damage when pulling the tank.
