about 11 weeks till 2014 Land Speed Racing begins... El Mirage starts in May and Bonneville in August (for me).

Alex

Exciting Alex, thanks for sharing. Will you be running at El Mirage?

I am planning on El Miarge May 17th & 18th. Typically, I travel on the 17th (Saturday). Arrive early afternoon Saturday and go thru tech. 1st run would be Sunday.

Hopefully the planets will align and it will happen. I didn't run in 2013 and am looking forward to the event.

Alex

Getn closer by the day!!!

Alex

1st run 126.992 MPH... that is .008 MPH under the record!
2nd run set a new record 127.015 MPH in 750 P-PP class ... and then was disqualified due to GPS reciever taped to top of rear brake light...
Nice tail wind though.
I should be able to lay down lower with my new seat... They didn't like the 750S seat I had on there.

I keep hearing on how strict they can be with the rules... Pretty much any reason they can come up with to disqualify. Really, DQ'ed because of a GPS receiver? Oh well, go get'em on the Salt. Yes, looks like a rider position change would help drastically. Hope you can achieve it and a world record. Thanks for your posts here!

Made the "adjustments" per SCTA "request."

Fired it up and now ready to go to the salt next Monday... just need to get the vinyl lettering delivered... come on Fed Ex.

More Bike Porn - go hard and get some new numbers for the record books...

Alex, what dates will you be on the salt?

Bummer:

Speedweek 2014
CANCELLED
Salt Report SAT Aug 9th
The SCTA Board is currently on the salt, and has determined that the standing water will not dry in time for us to hold our annual Speed Week event.
The Board is also discussing the possibility of extending our next event - World Finals (Sep 30 - Oct 3) into a full week of racing as a sort of delayed Speed Week.

A few of my good friends were out there this week and posted the news yesterday. Bummer indeed. So you may go out end of Sept then?

Bonneville 8914

Yeah I think they might use the Speedweek entry fee for World Finals.

If I80 isn't snow blocked thru Donner Pass I'll try then.

Is that a shot of Pete? Excellent composition!

Alex
