Tore the bike apart last night in anticipation for Todd's fuel mods. I have already removed the charcoal canister and am in the process of rerouting the pvc hose away from the airbox. While I have the tank off I guess I will remove the wire from the alt even though mine is not listed on the recall. Sure wish I could have afforded new exhaust but maybe some day. IMG 0430 IMG 0444

Your bike looks much like mine.
I'm waiting for Todd to the the reflash too.
Went with the air box mod, better filter and Alaris.

I believe you can get that from the Moto Guzzi America website.
I've just had mine done by Red Baron when I took my bike to them with my latest warranty claim.
The New Zealand agents flagged it as needing the mod.

Rick, that is exactly what I am doing too, hope I'm smart enough to use the Alaris. The Moto Guzzi website did not list my bike as needing the alt mod so I called my dealer and his software said it did. So I recommend calling your dealer and giving them your vin.

Sounds like the Alaris will be more useful than the Multimedia platform.
Able to reset TPS and soon service light, plus it's a data logger with Bluetooth.
Now Spring here in the southern latitudes so plan to put it all to great use.

Can't wait for Todd to finish and send everything back.

Sent my ECU off today, probably a week turnaround. Winters aren't to bad here, I can ride quite a bit. where are you going to mount your Power Commander?

Trying to work that out as I have the accessory alarm fitted.
Might be going beside the battery box.
There's not a lot of space to play with.

Gentlemen, put the two control boxes on the RIGHT side of the bike under the side cover. There is a lot less "stuff" in the right side. Both boxes fit nicely and even mount to the relay brackets with the included velcro. Work slowly and lay out all the wiring before you cut anything to length. Todd's directions are near perfect for the touring model if you just switch the side you put the control boxes in. Everything fit and worked perfectly first time.
Good luck

Side note: My dealer said that ALL Cali 1400's that were originally equipped with the TWO wire alternator plug, need to be modified to the ONE plug version. Guzzi instructed the dealer to modify any existing two wire Cali 1400's they had in stock BEFORE they sold them. Perfect time to do the mod when you have the tank off for this installation.

Thanks for the suggestion on mounting the power commander. That's what I will do. I was toying with the idea of mounting it where the charcoal canister was because removing it opened up a nice little compartment. I would just need to seal the holes that the hoses came in to keep any road dust out. I did my alt mod last night. Piece of cake, slide it out and put a piece of shrink tube over it and gave it a little heat. Tonight I cap the crankcase vent inlet on the air box and reroute the hose.

I would say the left side has more space, Especially on the Custom. The Tour has the factory alarm which uses the pigtail of the connector I use to power the AutoTune. Where are you pulling power from on the right side? Ultimately they can go wherever you'd like of course.
Shipping most PC's today. I was awaiting my back order.

Todd, I only mounted the boxes on the right to get around the alarm and the seat lock, and the ability to mount to a solid flat spot as well as be able to see everything with the side cover completely removed. You are correct about the extra space on the Custom. I still used the alarm power your directions highlighted to power the unit. There was enough wire (with a short splice) to make the connection easily.

I've just relocated my Power Commander & Autotune on my Custom to the RHS. Much neater and more accessible.

I've now got plans for that space that was cleared on the LHS.
