I know some people here don't like it, but in case you are looking for it, I found Liqui-Moly MoS2 gear additive on Amazon, ships really quick. One word of caution - it is in a very liquid suspension, so it comes out of the tube quickly, not like grease. One tube should last 3+ oil changes.

Great stuff Scott. Will report back on this in another 30,000 I hope. You can mix it with other grease if needed. It's 68-73% molybdenum according to analysis. It just stays in place. Look at my splines on CARC input after cleaned a bit. Screenshot 2020 05 25 17 23 32 843

Way back when in the mid 90's i had a Sport 1100 (awesome bike) But the diff oil would turn black and be very watery (and stink like you wouldn't believe) after about every 3000Ks, I changed to a 50/50 mix of the recommended oil and "Morey's Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer". Problem solved, only ever changed the oil at the recommended intervals after that and it came out just like it went. Since then i have run the same in 5 other Guzzi twins and one single (both gearbox and diff). It may be worth a look. BTW i am also a fan of Molybdenum based greases.

Luckily I have some Guard Dog Moly left as I have enough for several spline coatings which I am going to do as soon as I change the rear tire on my 2016 Eldo. Unfortunately, the owner retired and there is none left so it is good to see there is an alternative because the heavy Moly just does not deteriorate and is the best for splines.

That product (Liqui-Moly) is for the final drive gearbox mixed with gear oil. It is too viscous for the splines so does anybody know of a moly heavy grease that is true moly for splines?

I've found a good synthetic grease works great on splines. I've used Mobil1 brand and Lucas. Both are excellent, non hardening and stick in place.

How much of the liqui-Moly are most people adding to the final drive oil during changes ?

For the old style rear drives that call for it, 20cc of Moly and 230cc of gear oil. Personally I skip the moly and just use 250cc quality synthetic 75W90 gear oil, either Mobil 1 or Lucas but some prefer Red Line.
