Im so greatful to you Dudes for helping get me through the problems with the alternator and associated wiring issues I had with this bike . Without your input Im sure I would have given up in disgust . This is another success story for which you are both responsible , so Thanks , I've now got he most awsome untamed beast I've ever owned . I've had a few since 1966.
I've finally managed to get some pics loaded , not quite sure what I've been doing wrongly , repetitively for ages , but , tenacity prevailed and now we have nice pics .See them in the Tonti pics section.
To my knowlege this bike is a 1985 SP11. Imported into New Zealand from Italy in 1996 with 42000 on the clock. Not sure if they're Miles or Kilometers , but it doesnt appear to matter too much with a Guzzi what they are .To the best of my calculations using NZ registration information , she's done 76,000 Kilometers in total .
Modifications are ; Split Braking with Braided lines , Fibreglass FuelTank , Rear sets , One piece seat base with Integral Rear Guard , 38mm Marzocchi forks ,Tarrozzi fork brace , Dyna 111 Ignition , Crankcase Sump Extension , Mikuni TM38/85 Carbs with Hyper chargers filters , Gear Driven Camshaft , Stainless Steel Mufflers , and just enough Chrome to make it nice but not "over the top".
I dont know what has been done inside the engine , the previous owner just said "extensively modified" when it had a crank grind due to a loose oil filter , about 1200 kms ago. I bought it when it had only done 400 since the rebuild , and have also done huge work with tuning .
I ride in quite a spirited way ,in that fine point between scarey and fun most of the time .
My only remaining headache is the Rear Braking Ratio.I need to increase it by 30% which is simple to do with the linkages provided . The front is unbelieveable , and will lift the rear off the ground in an emergency . Very controllable though .
Have a look , give me your thoughts thus far . Thanks so much again !!
Regards Supaflee

Re: Special thanks to John Zebell and OJ

Hi Supaflee

Very kind of you to post up a thank you, although not necessary but appreciated. I took a look at the pictures and its a very nice machine.

You persevered and were not afraid to post again for clarifications, all the credit is down to you. JZ is awesome and I try to post with odds and ends if its something I know about.

Its the best board around for all things technical on Guzzi and Todd has some great toys on offer too. Many Many on here with way more knowledge than me.

That thread is a great read for people with charging system trouble too, so it will help others.

With your summer coming in I hope you get some good weather and fun with it.

John

Re: Special thanks to John Zebell and OJ

Thanks for the kind words. As OJ stated, if you didn't stick with it you would not have a success story no mater what we posted. It took your hands and mind to fix the problem. We just provided information.

SupaFlea: Very nice machine! So glad you stuck with it. I have the same drag bars on a T and love them. Actually thinking of doing the Black Eagle the same way.

Good Riding!
