Hi All,

I'm looking for a translation chart between Moto Guzzi Brake Caliper and the Brembo designation for 1994-1996 Sport 1100 (Carb). Mostly so I can search for a seal kits and pistons for the rear caliper. I've almost convinced myself that the F05 designation is the one to go with but since it's brakes...

All pointers appreciated.

'95-96 should be a 5165. Brembo N.A. doesn't sell rebuild kits here due to litigious reasons, but you probably can.

Hi Todd thanks for the cross reference information.

You're absolutely right, which is of course no surprise, finding Brembo seals for these calipers in the US proved fruitless.

Since my son and I decided to replace the pads, we also decided that by the time we found the seals on a foreign site, paid shipping and handling fees then dismantled, cleaned and reassembled the caliper. We could reduce the down time and incur only slightly more expense by replace the existing caliper with a factory fresh one complete with pads.

So as soon as the inner spacer for the Dymag wheels arrived, somehow it got left out when the previous owner swapped out the stock 18" guzzi wheels for 17" Dymag, we reassembled the rear wheel installed an bled the rear brake and pushed the bike out of the basement into the yard to start her.

Imagine how excited we were, last time we fired this baby up was in March, after draining and changing all the fluids but before starting to go through the safety systems etc . We both wanted to hear her run before investing time or money replacing parts, tires, bleeding brakes etc. The Battery fits fine by the way. probably could have gone with one of the larger ones, maybe next time.

Tank and battery fully charged, chokes closed, couple of twists on the throttle to prime the pumps and squirt a little gas in the inlet manifolds

Thumbed the starter a few times, waited for the smoke to clear, adjusted the chokes. Shifted into into 1st, twisted the throttle, eased the clutch into the friction zone, felt the rear wheel starting to bite opened the throttle a touch more only to have the engine die on us As anybody who has ever thrown a leg over a Sport Carb knows when fitted with stock carbs and carb return springs and a stock throttle it takes a little effort to twist the throttle. Unfortunately just at the point I was about to move all resistance at the throttle vanished :-(

Throttle cables orders placed and cables in transit. Maybe next weekend we'll get to ride.

:D

Thanks again for the cross reference info.

Paul
