Staintune v Lavizzari

I bought the Griso with a Staintune fitted and then soon after fitted the Lavizzari and then the PC-V and autotune.
I was happy with the improvements made by the PC-V but there were still some issues with jerky on/off throttle, a feeling of something just not right and recently the problem with the motor pinging.

On the weekend i changed back to the Staintune to see what difference it would make, and the changes were quite substantial.
The pinging has gone completely, no matter what i tried i could'nt bring it on.
The motor felt stronger and pulled better throughtout the rev range.
The jerky on/off throttle has smoothed out considerably. A lot more pleasant to ride at slower speeds.
It's a lot quieter and i have been able to pinpoint that annoying rattle as being the headlight.

The downside.
It's a lot quieter.
I don't like the look of the Staintune.

So for those who have been saying a more restrictive pipe works better, i agree :ugeek:

Like it or not modern engines are different to those built 50 years ago. If you have unlimited time and money you can adapt your 'Modern' engine so that it responds to all the rules in Phil Irving's 'Tuning for Speed'. If you want it to work properly in a heavily regulated environment, (ie, any 'First World' country in the early years of the 21'st century.) then those rules no longer apply. To think otherwise is to follow a line of thought so obtuse and obstinate that it beggars belief.
