Just got it firing!
As anyone who has purchased an NTX has probably found, there aren't very many purpose-built solutions available for this model. Here are some products I have found from other models:
Luggage rack: I camp as often as I can and always need a way to secure a dry bag on the back of my bike. Obviously the stock rack on the NTX isn't very useful, but I found this adapter plate from Adventure Moto-Stuff in Carson City, NV (great shop BTW) that bolted up with just two new holes needing to be drilled and countersunk . Only $95. It also has mounts for a top case adapter. http://www.amotostuff.com/product/AMSVSLug12.html
Tool storage - I ride off-pavement a lot and always carry tire tools, a compressor, plus a decent tool kit. With the relatively small saddlebags on the NTX I was looking to utilize other space - and there is a lot behind the RH saddlebag. Two of these Dry Spec tool tubes from Twisted Throttle really did the trick - only $40/pc with the optional mountain kits. I was able to utilize existing holes on the bag racks to mount them. Takes a little creativity but they work great, and I have the bonus of always having tools along even when not carrying the saddlebags. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/twisted-throttle-tool-tube-w-mounting-kit
This tank bag from Cor-Tech is a good fit, and has a separate bra underneath. I had to cut a hole for the gas cap but otherwise pug and play. Not huge but useful and doesn't get in the way when standing up off-road. http://www.amotostuff.com/product/8230-0605-08.html
Windshield: I found the stock shield pretty noisy at freeway speeds - I'm 6'0" with long legs, and am much more comfortable with the seat in the high position. I tried ordering the Givi D610T replacement, but it was designed for the earlier Stelvio and does not fit the NTX. This add-on from Touratech, designed for the R1200GS, makes a huge difference, and it comes on and off very easily 'in flight' if you need more ventilation, or are riding off road. http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/...200GS-Suzuki-V-Strom-DL650-1000-Explorer-1200
