Hello fellow Guzzi riders, I just purchased a new 2012 Stelvio NTX. It's one of the best bikes I have ridden and I have owned a lot of bikes in my time. I joined this forum to get a better understanding of the Moto Guzzi brand. I would like some feedback on the seat height of the bike. I'm a bit of a short a**** but I can still reach the ground but only my toes, this is no great worry to me. What are anyone's thoughts on shaving 10mm of the foam in the riders seat, would it effect handling or only the ergonomics of the riders position. Only reason I would do this is to assist in maneuvering the bike in tight spaces. Well any thought and or advice anyone may have would be appreciated.

Best regard to one and all

Congrats and welcome to the Forum!

So can we assume that your seat is in the lowest position? The dealer showed you this, correct? If it is, there should be no problem shaving down the seat foam to fit. Otherwise you can go after some thickened soled boots, or last (but best) solution would be to get a shorter custom rear shock (plenty of options @Store link above), and slide the front forks up in the triples.

    Post often.

    gday...

    Geoff here - another aussie.
I'm currently base in the Isle of Man, and also have a new Stelvio NTX.
It is my intention (currently) to bring this back to Oz/Brisbane with me eventually.

My parents live in Wynyard I'm sure you know where that is ;) .. Some time in the future, I'll ride down from Brisbane, No doubt, at some time, we'll have to catch up for a beer.. I suspect your probably one of very few Stelvios in Tasmania!

    cheers,
    --geoff

Tasmania is actually verminous with Stelvios.
