I’m not really sure where to post this question but this thread seems to get a lot of action so here goes:

I ride a V7 III and today noticed that the lock where the saddle clicks into is kind of stuck open (at least that’s what it looks like to me). The seat will click in, but with very little force will pop back up. I’m wondering if someone could show me what their lock looks like when no key is engaging it - so that I can try to figure out how to fix mine. In case you’re wondering what happened, a mechanic installed new tail lights not too long ago and I’m guessing something got cinched in the process.

mine looks exactly like that. when you twist the key the silver tab disappears. you might try a bit of lubricant while working the key. or loosen the two Allen screws a bit and relocate the fixture a bit. any chance you fiddled with the left side cover where the cable comes in touch with the key lock mechanism. (lube it also) also, make sure the pin on the seat isn't lose.

I had to extend the latching pin attached to the seat slightly so it would engage with the catch. I removed the pin and packed something (can't remember what) under the pin. Works great now.

Check the cable route is not restricting cable movement, also lube it up.
