I live in the state of Oregon in the United States, and am interested in traveling to Switzerland to do a motorcycle trip at some point in the future.
Ideally, I would like to find someone who lives there to stay with for a few days, who also rides, and could act as an informal tour guide. I would like to do this on sort of an exchange basis. In other words, if that person wanted to travel here at some point, I would provide them with a place to stay, and act as their tour guide for a few days. There are some amazing routes around here, and I think that it would be great to host a fellow rider from a foreign country to ride with.
I would not be providing a motorcycle for my guest, he would need to rent one, and I would plan on doing the same when traveling there.
Does anyone on here know of a website for riders like this to get together?
    Thanks, James

    James,

Interesting idea. I'll be watching to see what kind of feedback you receive. FYI, for anybody looking I would also be interested in and live on the mid-atlantic coast of the U.S.

What an interesting idea - I can see a GuzziTech's own informal AirBnB & Guided Tours service developing here!

One thing I'd highlight, if you plan to rent a bike in Europe check with the rental company if you plan riding across international borders - not least their insurance may cover only Domestic riding and likely the rental company's written permission is needed for the temporary "export". Not show-stoppers but also not something you want to learn from a foreign traffic officer

We rented a bike in France and the insurance had no limitations at all for any EU country and the rental included free roadside assistance, of course I'm assuming that the UK will now be considered foreign!
