Hi folks,

any recommendations for the most scenic route from Madrano to Interlaken in July. Google maps show 3 routes: Sustenstrasse, Furkastrasse and Allacqua. I expect all 3 to be mind boggling, but I don't want to fall into the trap of 'oh, you should have gone that way'.

Regards,
Mark.

:D We did it via the Furkastrasse. C'est tres spectaculaire! But, as you said, they are all no brainers. Pick any, you can't go wrong in Switzerland! We are setting sail on Saturday, so if you see a white Griso 8v and a black & silver 900 Thunderbird, give us a wave!

Thanks folks,

Furkastrasse it is. Regarding speed cameras, I have promised my apprehensive wife, who is riding pillion, that I will be on my best behaviour. I plan on buying a vignette at the Italian / Swiss border near Lugano.

Regards,
Mark.

Mark, as you cross the border there is a small petrol station/shop, you can get a vignette in there (I did the last time). Have a great time, Bry.

Hi folks,

I'm back in Australia, safe and sound, with no speeding tickets. The scenery in the north of Italy, Switzerland and the French alps was absolutely fantastic. Here we are at the eastern end of the Furkastrasse.

For a bit of contrast, here is a photo of outback Australia on my way from Melbourne to Darwin.

Cheers,
Mark.
