So recently, the tach needle sticks on my 13' Stelvio and is floating inaccurately. When I shut down the bike it will sometimes fall back to zero but most of the time it just sticks somewhere it doesn't belong. I doesn't seem to affect the way the bike runs, but is a real distraction and of course is useless. I spoke to a Guzzi tech over the weekend who has a Stelvio and he indicated that these dash clusters can be problematic due to the LCD readout being affected by the sun. Is anyone else experiencing this, and if so is there a fix for it? I don't really want to replace the dash cluster unless I can have some faith that it won't just happen again. The bike has 11K on the clock so it seems a bit soon for this to be an issue.

Thanks in advance for any input.
Tom

There is a thread somewhere on this forum where someone replaced the stepper for the analog gauges on a dash. I don't recall if the Stelvio uses a dial, or band type of tach. If all else fails, CArmo can probably repair your dash. You will be without it for a few weeks so plan accordingly. One thing to note, the ECU has a built in rev limiter, so red lining isn't an issue without a tach.
