Technical Update on Norge Headlight?

I drove 4 hours Saturday to look at a 2008 Norge for sale at a Guzzi Dealer.
He said he had just performed a Tech Service Recall on the Norge headlight?
Has anyone else heard of this? The bike had 1 mile on the Odometer... but I thought this sounded
a little strange. I've done what I consider "enough" research to satisfy my quest for info on the Norge...
then I walked in and heard this (which I've never read before).

I believe we are talking about the wire connector to the headlight; unless the wire is replaced or covered up you risk a short in the headlight circuit. Basically, old news. Had it done on my '07 prior to purchase, as well. So this is a good thing, something you now do not have to worry about. Go ahead & purchase, ride, enjoy. I sure enjoy mine.

Oh, & a couple more, but really very simple issues you may or may not have heard about:

1)Sidestand & mainstand bolts have a tendency to come loose. If they haven't already, ask 'em to be sure they are tight, & then apply some loctite (it'll wick right in, not necessary to pull it all apart). It's a non-issue as long as you take this precaution.

2)Either have them do this, or very easy to do yourself. There is a round rubber bumper that screws in to the mainstand, & prevents metal from hitting metal where the center stand comes up & rests against the stop welded to the exhaust. Whether you have the long (about 1 inch) or the shorter version of the rubber piece, you'll want to just take a knife to it, cut it back to, oh, 1/8-3/16" or so for max ground clearance. Since you are looking at an '08, you'll have the better, stronger rear shock spring for sure, this may be all you need.

Hello

Make sure that the deale sets the front and rear pre-loads on the suspension for your particular weight BEFORE you drive off. You will enjoy the bike much better even on the first ride!

More on the rear suspension. If you jack up the preload, you will probably also want to click up the damping, they go together. As indicated above, depends on your weight, plus passenger if any, & riding style. Rear end adjustments are VERY easy, just take your time with it, front end not much harder, but less adjustment available stock, preload only. If after playing with the stock parts you decide you want more, check other, prior threads here regarding various mods both front & rear, not terribly expensive or difficult fortunately.

Great! Thanks.
