Must be great to get 98 octane. 91 is the best I can get here. Great looking bike too. That's probably the only bike I would trade my V-rod in on.

Octane rating or octane number is a standard measure of the performance of an engine or aviation fuel. The higher the octane number, the more compression the fuel can withstand before detonating (igniting).

Higher octane fuel, by itself, does not translate into more power or greater performance.

Trust me, it's not my bikes that want the better octane. I have a couple of old dump trucks that when I'm working them in 110 degree weather I don't like hearing them pinging. A lot of people don't understand the concept of higher the octane the slower the burn.

Could you try retarding the ignition a little? That should help with the pinging. Otherwise octane booster?

I had a touring seat recovered by Mavin Seats in Maine. It just showed up today. I asked the owner to do whatever she wanted with this. I think she did a fantastic job!

I just added some new risers and custom bars (Zombie Performance). There is just emough slack with rerouting. I will have what needs lengthened soon so it will look tidier. This allowed me to add a National Cycles winscreen. Seems to work well so far.

Slip-ons from your Honda huh? Interesting but if they fit why not. How's it sound?

They were VERY loud as original but I found a pair of baffles that press fitted nicely into the end caps.
The bike sounds absolutely awesome now and gets head turns from the H-D guys.

I had to use pipe reducers from the mufflers to the stock pipes and fitted them using a pipe expander.
The dimension of all pieces involved were very close.

F you get some time, I would love to see how did the install on those. Did you make your own brackets and how did you attach them. I am working on this now with my bike. Thanks.

I bought the Universal Large kit. I originally was going to use them as "throw over " saddle bags but they were too short to fit down to the saddlebag supports I modified. (the joining strap isn't long enough.)So I used the included supports that came with the bags and modified them.
I had to line up and drill a new hole, cut off excess and shape the bracket for the shock mount, replace the shock mount screw with stainless and Tweek(bend) the brackets to fit.
It really was not much work.
I will try and post pictures.

If I remember correctly, it was the front(shock) bracket that needed modification ( drill and grind).

Very nice mods! How's the sound of your shorty exhaust? Just looking for ideas here since upgrading the motorcycle exhaust is my next project.
