Working on the electrics now, the Motogadget mUnit is interesting, any tips on them appreciated

Nice work. The M-Unit is pricey but a very nice unit. I have on installed in a Magni, easy to install and no issues with it. It certainly helps to simplify a custom rewire.

For some reason since Motogadget updated there site I can only now get the instructions in German. I have a pdf set of instructions in English which should tell you all you want to know about the unit. It has some nice trick features too. As a taster it can be configured to operate all pushbutton or a combination of switch and pushbutton switchgear. It can give you flashing brake light, normal or permutations of the 2. The unit has built in overload protection and looks great. It operates on a grounded input and needs about 100mA load, so you earth one side of your switch, run a thin wire to the M-Unit and that's your input.

Oh the fusebox is there for some other inputs, side lights etc: & as a marshaling box, its not really necessary with the M Unit its just the way I chose to do my rewire.

PM me with your e-mail and I'll send them over to you

That has all the makings of one really beautiful bike. Hope it goes together as you want it to. Lovely work!

I was really surprised that after all that beautiful and skilled mechie work, that you said the M-Unit was a fail. I found it straightforward and it contained combined overload and relays in one package.

Did you get it to work or give up? I am sure you could easily sell it on. I have had a a few people contact me about how I wired mine and most were enthusiastic about the unit. I do admit it makes it look more complex at the unit itself, but found it tidied up the rest of the bike.

I did start with a complete plan on what I was going to do and marked it all up in an Excel sheet before I started, that was the hardest bit. After that running the wiring didn't give me a problem.

I intend to use another one to wire an 1100 sport, that's how much I like them.

I hope I didn't raise your hopes and then you felt I sold you a dummy.

I didnt say the unit was a fail, I said simplifiying the wiring was a fail.

It has removed the need for relays and fuses, but it's still a spaghetti factory under the body work

It's most likely a testament to my ineptitude than anything else. B) B)

Nice job Squeak! Not sure how to deal with the paint fume problem you've noticed around your gas tank....

I also posted on WG too, but yeah its a cracking job, see you got 4 pot Goldlines on it too

Well done sir, and a cracking place to live too
