The Upgrade Run ...

I'll add the ride report in a little while, but I caught this photo of Racer and the countryside when I stopped for a rest off of 101 at San Juan Bautista ...

The little beast just works so freekin' well now!

onwards,
G
I'm thinking that if you look in the dictionary for the word "Sweet", this picture will be there staring back at you. :)

Because folks have been asking to see a photo of the wheels, here's a little set of photos to show them.

They are sure pretty things! :D

Looks drop dead gorgeous. Those rims are pretty insane how good looking they are and I really like the look of the Road Attacks. Great work.

I'll have a pic soon of these on a racer with the cast wheels as well. Those spoke wheels with the red look awesome though for sure, nice mod!

Thanks everyone!

I was testing Racer's new suspension and tires on my ride yesterday. Damn it's good now! A couple of bumps that used to chatter my teeth and smack me in the butt now just "bump, ba-bump" below me as I speed over them, and the way it turns and grips has moved to a whole different level.

The setup now is very close to right on the money for my use .. I might back off a click or two on the front compression damping for slightly more compliance, just to see what it does. It's not just beautiful...

I think I'll go run the road up Mount Hamilton to Lick Observatory today to test it in the wigglies a little further. :D

Godfrey. Bike is looking good man! I went for the ContiRoadAttack 3 tires as well...night and day...worth every penny.

I went for the black headlight bezel and since I swapped to the cast wheels I just had to slap on those sweet red moto guzzi decals that were on the original wheels.

Nice.

I'd be very tempted to paint the mag wheels on Beau1's bike silver or gold. Gold would lighten the look with the blacked out headlamp trim up front, and warm it up a touch too.

I'm off for another ride on the motorcycle, then another bicycle ride, then I'm determined to finish the third installment on the trip report and post all three to this thread late this afternoon or tomorrow morning... :D

But a little panorama I took while testing the new suspension on a bumpy, winding road the other day:

That's about 2/3 of the way up Mount Hamilton at a convenient view point, looking at Santa Clara Valley from the southeast. The magic is really in the full resolution photograph, which is too big to post here, but if you want to view it here's a link:

Sheesh, I'm still behind writing the trip home story. Sigh!

But ... I finally scanned all the instant print (Polaroid) photographs I took on the trip. This is one that Todd took of me, with my camera, showing Racer after the suspension, wheels, and tires were all fitted, a short while before I left for home.

enjoy!
