To all learned gents and ladies,
It seems my 2007 Griso's TPS goes out of calibration regularly. I have read MANY posts on how to recalibrate/reset the TPS, but what I want to know is WHY does it go out of calibration in the first place.
Your comments appreciated.

The TPS is probably defective. My goes off about 2 tenths in a year. Make sure your throttle cable has slack.

Oh, - welcome nic!

Thanks for that. I will check. I have noticed that if I turn the steering to the left lock position, the motor rev increases. Any advice in slackening the cables.

I bet it's the cables. I think the adjuster is on the cables near the throttle on this model. I'd recheck the TB balance and TPS setting once you get the cable straightened out. The routing must be critical on the Griso since the tank sinks low close to the engine block.

New development - when checking the TPS position, it goes from 4.8 at fully closed to 77.0 NEARLY fully open, then at fully open jumps to 3.0.
Seems the TPS is stuffed - correct?

Could be, but they allow dirt/grime between the contacts that might be the cause. Try a good contact cleaning first, then yes, time to replace.

Just the latest updates.
Thanks Tod, the TPS WAS absolutely soaked (due to a ride in some horrendous weather for 5 hours). After this was cleaned out, regreased etc. all seems to be fine. I have ordered a TPS replacement and will be using this as a back-up when it is required.
Thanks to all for your comments and support.
Nic
