Tightening sequence - Mistral install ?

Got the Mistral reverse cone slip-ons and cross over pipe for the 08 Nevada today. I have everything on and everything real loose, including the head pipes at the engine and the brackets on the cans.

Everything fits up but it seems that the brackets from the mufflers to the bike will be angled off of their stock position.

I was wondering if there is any specific sequence of what order to tighten things to make sure that I am not stressing anything and that the final, tightened install will be right.

Posted this on the other forum too...hope that is not frowned upon.?
 
I prefer to start at the front to ensure the headers are properly seated in the heads. From there work your way back. Be really careful tightening the headers, the studs are a bit fragile. Also check tightness after a few heat cycles.

Thanx John, between you and the guy who answered on the other forum, (his name was John too BTW) all went well. The sequence I used was, Head pipe to engine (as you both suggested), brackets to bike, mufflers to brackets, muffler clamps to head pipes and finally (as the other John suggested) the cross over pipe last.

Feels strong and solid and sounds much nicer than stock ! Not too loud, a nice mellow sound (I have the Db killer out and plan to leave them out). First look (in the basement and not outside) I must say that I like the look of the Stock mufflers better than the Mistrals. The Mistrals are too small, to my eyes, where the stock ones fill the space better (though I hate the stock heat shields). The Mistrals are surely a quality, well made and finished product.
